🏠 You're staying with a friend or family member
Solution: Ask them for a letterThe homeowner or tenant writes a short letter confirming you live at their address — signed, dated, and with their name and address. This is widely accepted. Bring a copy of their ID or a utility bill in their name along with it if possible.
🏨 You're in direct provision or emergency accommodation
Solution: Get a letter from the accommodation managerThe accommodation manager or centre administrator can provide an official letter confirming you are a resident there. This is standard and fully accepted by Intreo.
🛏 You're in a hostel or short-term rental
Solution: Ask the hostel for a letter or get a bank statementA hostel can provide a letter confirming you're staying there. If you've opened a bank account, even online banks like N26 or Revolut, a statement showing your address is accepted.
📮 You have a letter from a government department
Solution: Use it directlyAny letter from Revenue, the DSP, the HSE, or an Irish government body addressed to you at your Irish address is accepted as proof of address — even if it's about something else entirely.
🤝 You were placed with an Irish host family (Ukrainians)
Solution: A letter from your host familyA letter from the host family confirming your name and their address is accepted for Ukrainians under Temporary Protection.
Online banks countA statement from N26, Revolut, or any other online bank registered to your Irish address is accepted as proof of address. Open one, get a statement, and use it.
