Documents Required for Jobseeker's Allowance

Going to Intreo without the right documents means a wasted trip and a delayed claim. Here is the complete list, split by situation.

Everyone must bring

Identity

  • Valid passport, or Irish driving licence, or current IRP card (non-EU nationals)

PPS number

  • Revenue letter, DSP letter, P60, or any official document showing your PPS number

Proof of address

  • Utility bill, bank statement, or official letter showing your name and Irish address, dated within 3 months

Bank account details

  • Your IBAN for direct payment, or confirm you want An Post collection (requires PSC)

If recently employed

End of employment

  • P45 from employer, or letter confirming your last day and reason for leaving
  • Last 3 months payslips

If you have savings or investments

Financial statements

  • Bank statements for all accounts โ€” last 3 months
  • Investment or share statements if applicable

If you have a spouse or partner with income

Partner income

  • Partner's recent payslips or employer letter confirming income
  • Or confirmation of their social welfare payment

If self-employed and closing a business

Business documents

  • Most recent Revenue Notice of Assessment
  • Evidence of ceasing to trade โ€” Revenue deregistration, final accounts
